You're on a scenic route through a state recreational area known as the human mind. You ask a pass-byer for directions, only to find he has no face or something. Suddenly up ahead, a door in the road.
We had the opportunity to collaborate with Kadenze on updating their main navigation. Part of the project requirements was to add in new functionality that had just come online, in this case Chat, Calendar and Course Updates. Given that Kadenze is an online app we need to make some adjustments to mobile functionality so that we can provide the best experience across all viewports. Considering the limited space on mobile we didn't want to utilize a lot of nested menus for the different types of notifications and
sub navigation options. We then limited the mobile menu to only display the number of notifications per type and when interacted with the user is sent to the appropriate feature, which on mobile is the best experience possible. We felt that creating jumping off points was a better use of clicks and thereby completing tasks in a more efficient manner. All in all, the changes that we designed and helped implimented vastly improved navigating the platform for all users, both students and faculty.
