Zwift Race Results

UX/UI, Prototyping, Video Game Design

While at Zwift We had the opportunity to collaborate with the Comp team on a Race Results modal. The goal of the project was to reduce the noise that existed in the old event/race results modal and present Zwifters with the data that they value most. Considering that they will be on the bike we needed to consider that they might be out of breath and sweaty. Once they are off the bike they would be able to check their results in more detail on Zwift Companion.

Once the acceptance criteria had been defined we collaborated with the team UX researcher to develop a testing plan that would use the Figma prototype above. After reviewing the test results we determined what we wanted for launch and started the documentation process for handoff. Part of the handoff process was to introduce a new way of documenting the project. This was a first for Zwift and soon became a welcome addition to how designers and developers collaborate.

Considering that there might be thousands of people per event we needed a loading state that would used in the case that we had a probablem returning race results. We created an example of the skeleton loader that we wanted to use.

Once we landed on the design that we all agreed upon for the first iteration of the Race Results modal we documented it for the developers. Part of the hand off was for us to hop into Noesis Blend to make minor updates to the styles so that they matched what we had in Figma.
