Zwift On-Boarding

UX/UI, Prototyping, User Testing

While at Zwift we wanted to explore how we might improve the on-boarding experience so that we can better set up Zwifters for when they first hop on the bike. Working with the UX designer on the team we created a user flow that integrated some of the questions that are asked when you first launch the game. When the game is provided with the approriate information the Zwifter is able to skip pass the game on-boarding and begin the pairing process.

Prototype used for user testing, reviews and eventually for documentation for dev handoff.

Removing this friction creates an overall better experience for the Zwifter since in most cases they are on their bikes and not able to reach a keyboard. Given that this is a multi step process we broke the questions down into smaller chuncks so that the process is focused on the task at hand. Part of the process was to user test via the prototype below and adjust the design based on feedback. After a few rounds of testing we ended up with what we could release with and started development.

This project was the first time I introduced the concept of Source of Truth to the design file and hand off process. We wanted to track the design work to tickets created in jira so we named the sections according to the dev tickets. This way as they needed updating or additional work all of that would live in the same space. I worked with my UX teammate and made sure that the documentation was correct and updated as edgecases and what not came up.
